A Sea of Orange

Today I visited Cal Poly Pomona's Annual Pumpkin Festival.  It's been a tradition to go with my mom and sister for the past 5 years or so.  And for some odd reason, every time this October weekend comes along, it's boiling!  It's like Summer telling us, "Ha! You thought you could enjoy an Autumn ritual without me?  Well, nice try suckas!"  Goodness, so we decided to go nice and early this time, and when my alarm went off at 6:30am this morning, I couldn't understand why I was getting up this early on a Saturday.  Then it clicked.  Pumpkin Pickin' Time!  And we made it out of there just in time to beat the heat.

Tomorrow is the last day to go until next year (8am-5pm), so go with the fam and enjoy a strawberry funnel cake, pick out some funky gourds and take in the beautiful sea of orange pumpkins!  But go early, folks, because it's going to be a sunny summery day.

The grounds seemed like a great spot to have my first "photo shoot" for the blog.  It didn't go amazing... why I'm wearing a green jacket in a green field, not too smart and my hair was doing some strange things.  But, hey, overall not too shabby for a first run.
My favorite outfit this fall.  I'm getting really into 70's florals this season that bring out those Autumn colors, and I had fun pairing this with a modern light linen jacket and my go-to booties.  And it's easy to wear to work, dinner or grocery shopping!
